Guided tour of the town of Biedenkopf – How can I make myself familiar with Medieval timber-framed architecture?
Guided tour of Hesse’s architectural history using Biedenkopf as an example. Biedenkopf offers its visitors the opportunity to take part in a somewhat different guided tour of town, wearing Medieval costumes or the traditional costume of the neighbouring “Untergericht” (district court) of Breidenbacher Grund.
This guided tour imparts knowledge on the question: How do I interpret the architecture of a Central Hessian timber-framed house?
The guided tour lasts about 2 hours.

Day trip to Marburg (approximately 30km from the hotel) – comprising Elisabethkirche* (church), the historic town centre and a walk around the landgrave’s castle.
Get close-up experience of Marburg and its history rich in tradition set in the original locations – this is possible through an interesting guided tour of the old university town.

Half-day trip to Wetzlar (approximately 55 km from the hotel) – with a walk to Wahlheim
Experience nature and literature walking in Goethe’s footsteps.
During his stay in Wetzlar in 1772, the young poet Goethe – a great lover of nature as is well-known – liked walking to Garbenheim, his particular “Wahlheim” (adopted home), and enjoyed the view over the valley of the River Lahn. In his first and most successful novel, “The Sorrows of Young Werther”, Goethe vividly describes the impressions these paths had on him.
